I had previously shared a mashup which was Janet Jackson on some Crystal Kay. Now here’s the flip — Kay on some Jackson. And even if I do say so myself, these two songs fit like a HEATTECH glove.
“Come On Get Up” was one of my favourite songs on Jackson’s All for You album. To this day I will never understand why it wasn’t released as a follow-up single to “All for You”. It was the perfect choice. Now that I think about it, the singles from All for You after the album title track were a complete mess. One single being a good choice released at the wrong time and with a shitty video. And another being an awful single choice with a good feature and a good video. The writing was on the wall for Jackson back then. Even if her titty didn’t make an appearance at the Super Bowl, her follow up album Damita Jo would’ve had a shit rollout anyway, because Virgin Records did not have their shit together.
I had originally planned to post this on November 27 — the 21th anniversary of Crystal Kay’s fourth studio album, 4 Real — but I am lazy as hell.
